Disc-O-Dogs

Meet Our dogs

Beau

  • Beauregard, better known as Beau, is our 2 year old Border Collie-Aussie Mix.  Beau has passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test and is our first Disc Dog!  He loves to play Frisbee, but will settle for you tossing a ball endlessly for him to retrieve.   He entered his first competition, a local Skyhoundz in Black Mountain, NC in Ocober 2007 and finished second.  His second competition was the GA State Frisbee Dog Competition (two weeks later) and he finished sixth in the Novice Division.  Beau is starting to learn freestyle and is eager to learn new tricks.  See more on Beau's 2008 season on the Awards Page and check out our 2009 Schedule to see Beau in action!

  • Pepper

Pepper is our two year old Border Collie-Cattle Dog mix.  She came to live with us when she was 6 months old.  She is a little shy around strangers, but is doing better after going through several obedience classes.  We wish she would show some interest in the discs --besides eating them!  Pepper is a very sweet and loving dog and loves to play with her little sister Doppler, who is now bigger than she is!  We are working with obedience with Pepper, as she has that little cocky cattle dog attitude and plan on testing her soon for Canine Good Citizen.

  • Doppler

Doppler is one of the newest additions  to our team.  She is a sixteen month old Border Collie Mix who is showing a strong disc drive. She has tagged along with Beau at most of the competitions this year and made lots of disc dog puppy friends!  A fast moving BIG bundle of energy -- watch out for her on the Disc-Dog radar in the future--and get out her way!  (The picture above is at about 8 weeks, her first trip to the practice field, she is watching big brother, Beau!)  The picture below is Doppler at 8 months! As you can see, she is a big girl now, around 60 lbs.  We think she may have some Newfoundland or other large breed in her, but she is still very active and loves to play.  The disc drive has slowed down a little with her size, but she still shows some interest.  She is such a sweet and loving dog, we are thinking of training her as a therapy dog.  She completed obedience school at Red Creek Farm in Townville, SC and passed the Canine Good Citizen test before her first birthday!

    Doppler at 8 months!

  • Dixie

Dixie is our first Border Collie, the one who taught us how much fun a dog can be!  At 9 years old, she is the "mother" of the pack who keeps everyone straight!  She has no desire to become a disc dog, but still loves to run and play!

  • Chase (formerly known as Crackers)

Chase is our newest disc dog!  He is an awesome toss and fetch dog, who knows how to go the distance!  We have already entered a few competitions with him and placed in the top ten.  We are looking forward to a full year of disc-dogging with Chase in 2009!

  • Smokey

Smokey, also know as Smoke or 'Mokey is our latest addition.  He loves to play with the disc, but needs some obedience training before he hits the field!  We were told he was a two year old heeler mix, but his primary breed is clearly Aussie, with his wavy hair and Aussie bark! (he loves a good argument!)  He is a unique salt and pepper color with an odd white marking on his forehead!  He joined us early in 2009 and already shows great promise as a flipping freestyle freak!

  • Max

Last, as well as least.....(sorry, Max)....is the Disc-O-Dogs cheering section.  He is a seven year old doxie who loves to play ball and go for long walks!  Everyone thinks he is a little neglected because he is not a disc dog, but he does play with his small discs and  he is a very active part of our family. He is really quite a watchdog and is very protective! (He has the nickname "Mean Max"!)
